The Southern California Holodomor Genocide Committee invites you to attend
the commemoration of 90 years since the brutal genocide of the Ukrainian people.

Saturday, November 11th (free tickets here) offers an exhibit about the Holodomor Genocide by artist Lydia Bodnar-Balahutrak featured at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Sunday, November 12th (free tickets here) program is at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Some highlights include:

The Southern California Holodomor Genocide Committee is committed to the dissemination of education about the Holodomor (Ukrainian genocide) of 1932-1933. Our endeavor is to reverse Walter Duranty’s 1932 Pulitzer Prize for denying the genocide in his New York Times publications, to provide education in the form of lectures, seminars, books in libraries, art exhibits, and videos, to instill teaching of the Holodomor into the core curriculum for California high school students, and to organize the annual November commemoration of the crime against humanity. Holodomor was the darkness that extinguished millions of lives of Ukrainian children, men, and women including farmers, the intelligentsia, historians, musicians, and clergy. It aimed to Russify the Ukrainian nation and its people. We, with a passionate focus, aim to bring a light that reinfuses the souls and voices of those who perished with the demand of “Never Again”. This is at a time when the genocidal intentions of the Russian state are in evidence again. We work in collaboration with like-minded organizations. As George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
